Weekend – no end to the positive cases in Washington. As always weekend graphic from The Seattle Times.

Friday – positive tests spiking at around 20% in parts of Washington State. That is alarming.
Thursday – Thanksgiving Day. 3M+ travelled.
Wednesday – 60M global cases, vast numbers of US cases. Records broken across the globe.
Tuesday – Italy and Spain hit hard again. UK and French lockdowns easing.
Monday – today Russia with peak cases. 12% positive test rate in Washington State.

Azure Resource Graph explorer is awesome.
Here’s my running list of useful queries.
Resources, by name, subscription name, resource group and location. Switch out the “where” for the resource type. e.g. microsoft.compute/virtualmachines
Resources
| join kind=leftouter (ResourceContainers | where type==’microsoft.resources/subscriptions’ | project SubName=name, subscriptionId) on subscriptionId
| where type =~ ‘Microsoft.network/loadbalancers’
| project name, SubName, resourceGroup, location
Linux machines, including appliance MarketPlace identifiers (i.e. CentOS, SLES, RHEL)
Resources
| join kind=leftouter (ResourceContainers | where type==’microsoft.resources/subscriptions’ | project SubName=name, subscriptionId) on subscriptionId
| where type =~ ‘Microsoft.compute/virtualmachines’
| where properties.storageProfile.osDisk.osType =~ ‘Linux’
| project name, SubName, resourceGroup, location, properties.storageProfile.imageReference.offer

Weekend – 200k cases per day; holiday travel is surging.
Weekly data from The Seattle Times. That positive test rate at >10% – ouch.

Friday – COVID tests spiking at 20% positive in King County. Trump Jr has COVID. Testing before Thanksgiving leads to huge lines.
UK cases may have plateaued; here come the hospitalisations and then the deaths. Compare with Monday.

Thursday – positive tests stop Brexit negotiations. “Don’t travel for Thanksgiving” – which is being widely ignored.
Wednesday – 250k deaths in the US. That’s 4 Vietnam wars.
Tuesday – “Trump administration has checked out”, US COVID cases continue to accelerate.
Monday – talking with friends about the last 36 weeks about “lockdown”: no school (all from home), no work (all from home), seen friends twice (socially distanced, wearing masks, outside), been outside the town a handful of times (to collect flour and visit Orcas Island for some isolated time away). This has not been normal, it’s not been with people. Our bubble of four has has had near zero contact with anyone else.
Today the talk has been around vaccines. A second encouraging report. UK numbers look dreadful.

Weekend – 2142 cases in WA yesterday; way about the March/July peaks. Positive test rate is heading to 5.7% and above. 184k new cases in the US on Friday. Europe-wide lockdowns are returning. Trump says “vaccine ready, except for New York”. Five more months of “severe” restrictions. WA heading back to tighter lockdown.
The Seattle Times has the weekly graph of State-wide data. It’s not looking good. 2000+ cases and more seem to be on the cards. This is heading into Thanksgiving.

Friday – Gov Inslee urges WA residents to not travel for Thanksgiving. This is likely to be the next super-spreader holiday weekend. This is a cool visualisation from GA Tech. I worry it’s got “yellow, so it’s safe”.. 150k cases in the US yesterday. That’s a run rate of 1M per week.

Thursday – those UK curves. Ouch. Graphs from The Guardian. Cases peaked, hospitals filling, deaths following along behind.

Wednesday – 1 million cases in Texas, 1 million new US cases in the last nine days. On track for 1M+ cases per week – with the associated hospitalisation and deaths. Locally in Washington State the positive case numbers are up dramatically but hospitals and deaths are still lagging (i.e. flat). Graphs from The Seattle Times.

Tuesday – the deaths lag the hospital intake, which lags the positive cases. England & Wales death tolls jumps 41%
Monday – Biden transition announces COVID-19 Task Force. Positive news on vaccines. “Back to normal by Spring 2021”

Weekend – US setting the pace for a million new cases per week. Shocking, sad, not unexpected. Washington State – big spike in numbers. The White House continues to spread coronavirus. Melbourne relaxes the lockdown (which seems to have worked).
From The Seattle Times – the regular weekly status. That spike is going to be brutal. Hospital capacity is still good – but the spike in testing is the early indicator.

Friday – while most of the news continues to focus on election counts, the infections keep coming. US setting records for daily new cases. I would not be surprised to see some huge spikes in 5-14 days from long lines waiting to vote.
Thursday – the steadily increasing number of global cases, followed by the lagging hospitalisation, followed by the deaths. Europe, USA, Brazil.
Wednesday – post election. Record breaking local Washington State coronavirus cases. England lockdown starts tomorrow, panic buying and last minute socialising.
Tuesday – election day in the US. COVID related news intertwined with election news. Mask wearing while voting is now a partisan issue :\
Monday – Argentina importing 10M Russian vaccines.
